Let me Tell You About Myself...
I am very patient with you and your pets’ needs. Understanding what you are doing when you are training your pet is important. I go at a slow pace with you and the training steps are broken down into little tiny movements to help your dog understand what is expected of him or her.
I am insured and bonded to be in your home. I love your dogs like they were my own which means they will get excellent care whether I am pet sitting or training or giving your dog a massage. Not all trainers feel like that. I consider servicing your pet to be an honor. When you succeed your dog succeeds and so do I. We are in this together. Not all trainers have the same commitment to success.
I chose to train dogs after I had finished my dual college degree in social work and psychology.
I had been accepted into Graduate school but after a great deal of soul searching I decided that I would rather combine my desire to help people with my love of dogs and become a professional dog trainer.
I had been training my personal dogs for years with the help of other professionals and was quite adept at doing so but I felt that there was much more to learn. I contacted Animal Behavior College in California and became a certified dog trainer one and half years later. I am a current member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Professional United Pet Sitters, an organization which supports the humane treatment of dogs and other animals. Additionally, I am a Mentor/Trainer via my alma mater, Animal Behavior College and I mentor new dog trainers. I feel honored that I am a part of the future of dog training. I am also now a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator!
My decision to become a professional dog trainer was driven by a sense of personal satisfaction that comes from seeing an animal go from being unruly to being a star obedience dog. I have saved many dogs from being euthanized, something that continues to be one of my personal & professional goals. Ill behaved dogs are one of the main reasons euthanasia is performed. All of my time and training will have been worth it if I save just one dog from meeting a premature death. Animals in general have the right to a good quality of life just as their human counterparts do.
So hopefully I've given you enough facts about myself and my method of training that you can rest assured that I am a person of integrity. I love dogs! I keep the promises I make barring any unforeseen circumstances. I am true to my word. My intentions are genuine without any hidden agendas.
